There she enjoyed using her many artistic and creative talents, especially quilting and decorating, to enhance the life of the Sisters, staff, and visitors. In 1978, Sister turned her focus to leadership in religious education. When the family outgrew the farmhouse in Dotyville, Ritas parents purchased a larger home and farm in Armstrong, Wisconsin. She enjoyed biking and being in nature, was an avid bird watcher and lover of wildflowers, and was committed to the care of Earth even advocating that the land near the former Nazareth Heights become a Nature Preserve for the people of Fond du Lac County. She worked in the Youth and Aged Ministry Office at Sacred Heart Parish, Yonkers, New York. Compassion, encouragement, loving care, a listening heart and so much more were part of the daily experience of those she served throughout her years in hospice ministry. Nancy entered St. Agnes Convent in 1948 and attended St. Agnes High School. Sister Rita graduated from Marian College, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, in 1966, with a BS in Elementary Education. She served in that role until her retirement in 2003.
